Many people nowadays have a pc at home for leisure or work purposes. But even if the latter is true no too many people know which software environment they are running on. For practical purposes many people or most of people only look for a product that works and that allows them to finish their tasks in a quicker way, they do not even care which kind of system they are using. So the following essay will focus on talking about two of the operating systems (OS) used commonly by some groups in society.

Among the two operating systems used by most of society, we can find on one side the Microsoft creation known as Windows which has a price in order to use the software license, and by the other side we have Linux an open-software, which is a free-license software system. Windows is nowadays the most used system by people who have no interest in going deeper with technology and programming issues, it is for people who seek for something simple to use. Another popular system is the one based on Linux mainly because it is free to use, but not so many people use it because it is a bit hard to handle, because the user himself/herself has to know several computer commands in order to have a functional pc based on Linux.

Once both systems have been briefly presented I will write the similarities they share. As I have previously stated both of the systems presented are operating systems, which serve us humans to perform any task and activity we propose to do. If we talk about using pc as a tool, it can be said that both systems will enable us to make any work because both systems have a productive kit, in the case of windows we have Microsoft Office (paid license), and in the case of Linux we have Open Office (free of charge). In both productive kits the user can make use of set of tools relatively alike that include from word processors to slide presenters. Another remarkable aspect is that both systems can be used as a multimedia set. On Windows we have Windows Media Player which easily plays any kind of video and audio format; on the other side with Linux we have several video and audio players free to be downloaded by the user, and as in the case with Windows, any audiovisual format can also be played. Another quality that both systems have in common is the ability to connect to internet networks for browsing the web or for chatting purposes.

The main differences between these two systems will be explained in this paragraph. The main difference of these two systems can be found on the way they were programmed, more specifically on their source code, Windows is based on a code named C++, while Linux is a mixture of several codes including C++. The visual interface known as UI (user interface) is different in each system, while the one used by Windows is not user adjustable; the one provided by Linux is fully adaptable to the user. Another two significant differences and mainly the reasons why people tend to draw on to the easier system is the user friendliness, as well as the device compatibility, the first one is mainly an issue when we refer to Linux and its versions because the use of it requires to know more complex things to take advantage of all its functions, while in Windows everything is ready to be used by any type of people, no set up is involved. The second issue happens in both systems but is more common in Linux, as it is not supported by any hardware builder, so the workarounds to make hardware work are made by people inside the Linux community.

Nowadays there are indeed many operating systems, but as it has been said the most common ones are Windows and Linux, each one with their similarities and differences, but in the end it will depend on the user to choose which fit with his/her needs and likes on any purpose they seek to accomplish by its use, either work or spare time.

Argumentative essay

DEATH PENALTY: CRUEL MURDER OR JUST PUNISHMENT

Outline
I.-Introduction.
II.-Get relief for the victims´ relatives.
a) Attitude towards victims´ assailant punishment.
III.-Suppress criminal actions.
a) Benefits of capital punishment to wellbeing of victims` families.
b) Criminal intents avoidance derived from capital punishment.
IV.-People can not chose who lives or who dies.
V..-Conclusion.

As humans appeared on earth, they have always been assailants to other for no apparent reason. As society evolved rules and regulations came to order to avoid these events, several ways to constrain human violence among each other were set. Such restrictions extend across spending some years in prison or to be submited to the most severe punishment: A death sentence. The latter is the conviction given to the meanest of the meanest criminals whom a simple or lesser sentence will not be enough to stop their felonies. But whether they deserve it or not is not an easy choice to make.

In the current society of our days, several people tend to believe that by allowing the capital punishment many people lives could be safe through the process. By doing the former people say that criminals will think about their actions prior doing them or taking action on them, preventing criminals from even to carry them on further. But in most cases that way of thinking does not apply, because criminals do not reflect about the consequences of their actions, they just act as if it were an inner animalistic instinct. The real reason of why wrongdoers do not care about their actions is because during the moment, they only act by anger, by a moment of passion, or simply because of total craziness. William Bowers (2009), criminologist, concluded that: “death penalty has the opposite effect: that is, society is brutalized by the use of the death penalty, and this increases the likelihood of more murder.”So as experts says it might benefit the victims´ relatives but, on the other hand it might create anger and hatred among those who are sentenced or will be.

People in general are also in favor of death penalty because they have come to believe that a just society requires it, in order to take a free-violence day to day life. They act with retaliation, because people think that as someone takes a life the common steadiness of justice is troubled, meaning that in order to maintain equilibrium, some killers must die. From my personal point of view this misconception that people have will only lead them to become into what they are fighting against: an unending sequence of unfair murders, where many people will die unreasonably. Death penalty is not about taking a life, is also about having the respect and cherish one. It is true that by permitting the death penalty to be carried out many criminals would step back, but while the process is done another life is taken. So no matter how many efforts the people in charge of politics do, the execution of a wrongdoer will not be the answer to be finished with delinquency. Regarding about this, we have to learn to live without revenge and feels of payback, because we cannot end violence with violence. By allowing executions we are not solving anything; instead we are becoming the issue.

To conclude, opponents say that the risk of killing innocent people precludes the use of death penalty. They say that having based on the numerous research, evidence and proof they have with them, but no matter if they count with all the information needed to sentence a person, there will always be a minor mistake, which will send an innocent one to a certain death. But even if the former were to happen, for the ones in charge of the punishment, it will not matter, because according to them by killing him/ her they are saving quantities of lives.

Capital punishment has its pros and cons. But even if it has more pros than cons, it should not be allowed to give someone election over a life which is not own to end. So it does not matter if the person is not human, is less human the one who takes his/ her life, because no one is superior to anyone to take or to finish with a life. Taking into account the latter is not in our hands to choose who dies or who lives.
